Who this serves

  • Workshop graduates ready for more
  • Nonprofit staff with a specific workflow problem
  • Small business owners and self-employed people
  • Job seekers working on a career move
  • Community technology volunteers

The problem

A short workshop can only open a door. Real subjects like responsible use, a rebuilt workflow, or starting something of your own need more time than an introductory hour allows.

What you get

  • A longer session on one subject, with time to actually work
  • Hands-on practice using your own tasks, not a demo file
  • Straight coverage of risks, limits, and where these tools fail
  • Written material you keep afterward
  • A next step you choose, with no pressure attached

How it works

  1. Each session takes one topic and stays with it
  2. Topics rotate so the schedule follows what people are asking for
  3. Attendance stays small enough that questions get real answers
  4. Sessions run where a host organization can offer the space
  5. What people struggle with in a session shapes the next round of workshops

On the roadmap. Funding and partners are what move it forward.

Why these come later

They are built for people who have already had the introduction, which means community workshops need to be running first. Putting a deep dive on the calendar before the on-ramp exists would fill a room with the wrong people, and the ones who need it most would still be outside.

The format

One topic, one long session, small enough that a real question gets a real answer. You bring your own work. You leave having done something with it, not having watched someone else do something with a sample file.

What decides the first date

Enough demand for one specific topic, a host location that can hold a longer session, and support to keep seats within reach. Tell us which topic you want and you help decide the order.

How a sponsor or partner can help

  • Offer a room that works for a longer session
  • Sponsor a session so seats stay affordable
  • Teach or co-teach in your area of expertise
  • Tell us which topic your people actually need first

Common questions

When is the first one?

Not scheduled. This is planned, and it comes after community workshops are running, since these sessions are meant for people who have already had the introduction.

What topics are on the list?

Responsible AI, Microsoft 365, nonprofit workflows, career development, community technology, and AI-assisted entrepreneurship. Which one goes first depends on what people ask for.

Do I need to attend a workshop first?

Not formally, but these assume you have the basics. If you are starting from zero, a community workshop is a better use of your afternoon.

Will these cost money?

Probably something, kept as low as we can, with sponsored seats where possible. We will publish a real number rather than leaving it to be discovered at signup.

Can these be held for one organization?

That is worth a conversation. If you have a group with a shared problem and a room, a dedicated session may make more sense than a public one.
